run while you can

Social construction site.

Any color you like. Life Magazine. May 1956.

Running race into a little box

marked ‘white’ or ‘negro’ or ‘latino.’

The specific person says: “and so on.”

White paper. Black ink. Clear contrast.

All legibly discreet. Fingerprint smudges/

like discussing mixed blood over a mixed drink. OR-

Disparities in income, wealth, education, incarceration–

Equal opportunity does not equal an equal outcome.

White does not equal black– nothing blatant here.
